I find it disturbing that so many of today's youth (ages 21 and below) don't know and don't care about recent history.
I had helped out some children several times with homework and projects, especially those that involve history or literature and am dismayed at the lack of awareness and the abundance of indifference. It seems so many kids today do not know about apartheid, the Civil Rights Movement, WWII, the Holocaust, slavery, the last 100 years and even the politically-correct way of addressing people of different nationalities.
Some people live in reinforced bubbles.
